Want to experience the BEST Santa Fe Christmas ever? Here’s how:
The most strategic way to enjoy Santa Fe during the Christmas season is after Thanksgiving but before Christmas. Why? You can get all your shopping done at one of our many festivals and art markets, participate in our unique Santa Fe Christmas traditions, and even have a blast skiing, all while skipping the crowds and getting home in time to spend Christmas day with friends & family. Here are seven ways to have the best Santa Fe Christmas getaway ever.
Unique Stores For Holiday Shopping
Santa Fe is full of one-of-a-kind stores selling art, dazzling handmade jewelry, colorful home décor, and so much more. Here are some of our favorites:
- Nambé (kitchen décor)
- Malouf on the Plaza (boutique jewelry, handwoven rugs, high-end fashion, home décor)
- Susan’s Christmas Shop (handmade ornaments, nativities, cards)
- Shiprock (Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery, folk art, fine art, basketry)
- Doodlet’s Toy Store (classic toys, handcrafted miniatures, books, gifts, nostalgic candies and treats)
- Santa Fe Farmers Market (baked goods, handmade artwork, bath products, unique gifts)
- Teca Tu (everything furry friend-related)
Santa Fe Holiday Markets
Santa Fe has so many holiday markets to shop for special gifts, listen to live music, enjoy seasonal treats, and more. Be sure to check out these markets between November and December of 2023:

Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, enjoy live music, steaming hot chocolate, and a visit from jolly ol’ Saint Nick. Most importantly, witness the nostalgic lighting of the farolítos (lanterns) and watch the plaza’s Christmas decorations come to life.
