The Pro Musica String Works Series featuring Borromeo String Quartet with pianist Anne-Marie McDermott. Each fall, pilots, crews and spectators from all over the world come to the Albuquerque balloon festival, known as the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®, the world’s largest hot air ballooning event.

This Italian ensemble performs an all-Italian program on rare Italian instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble is named after the city of Cremona, considered the birthplace of the violin in the workshops of the masters Amati, Guarneri, and Stradivari. The New York–based Escher Quartet (“gutsy, with plenty of edge and a brilliant precision of attack”—The Guardian) takes its name from Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher, inspired by Escher’s method of interplay between individual components working together to form a whole.
