7 Top Reasons to Visit the Santa Fe Farmers Market

The Santa Fe Farmers Market is more than a typical market selling fresh produce during the summer – much more. Voted one of the “Top Ten Farmers’ Markets” by Sunset Magazine, this happens to be one of the largest, oldest, and most successful farmers markets in the entire United States. Fresh fruits and vegetables are just one of many reasons to check it out. To get you started, here are 7 top reasons to visit the Santa Fe Farmers Market.

#1 Inn of the Turquoise Bear

Located just a hop, skip and a jump from the Santa Fe Market is the perfect accommodation for overnight stays. Besides the convenient proximity, Inn of the Turquoise Bear bed and breakfast encompasses fascinating history, authentic architecture, local art, delicious food, and unmatched hospitality for a truly iconic Santa Fe experience. Offering nine unique and spacious guest rooms in a rambling adobe estate, you’ll enjoy a private, quiet and restful stay when you’re not out exploring Santa Fe’s endless adventures. Pack your fresh produce for a picnic in Santa Fe and then return to the Bear.

#2 Open All Year

The Santa Fe Farmers Market is open year-round, every Saturday from 8am to 1pm. That means no matter what time of year you visit Santa Fe, you can take advantage of all that the Market offers, including a fantastic selection of fresh produce, bread, honey, meat, eggs, and much more.

#3 100% Locally Grown

All of the products sold by the Santa Fe Farmers Market vendors are always locally grown by the people selling them. What’s more, 100% of the vegetables, fruits, and nursery plants available are grown right here in northern New Mexico. Likewise for at least 70% of the ingredients used to make all processed items, as well as the materials used to make any craft products.

#4 Tuesday Market

If you’re staying mid-week, then don’t miss the Tuesday Market, which brings a little something special to Santa Fe. Load up on farm fresh goodies while avoiding the crowds. You’ll find the same great selection as Saturdays.

Tuesday Market Hours
May 2 – December 19

Tuesdays also bring to Santa Fe the Tuesday Del Sur Market thanks to the joint effort of the SFFM and the Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center. The Del Sur Market’s goal is to connect local growers to offer fresh, healthy food to Santa Fe’s growing community. For you, that means more opportunities to shop.

Tuesday Del Sur Market Hours

Tuesday: 3pm to 6pm

Location: Presbyterian Medical Center, 4801 Beckner Rd., Santa Fe, NM

#5 Railyard Artisan Market
